We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly ethical Employment Background Verification Specialist to join our [HR/Compliance] team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive background checks on potential hires, ensuring that all information provided is accurate and compliant with legal and company standards. Key Responsibilities • Conduct and verify employment history, educational background, and professional references. • Perform background checks including criminal, credit, and identity verification as required. • Liaise with third-party verification agencies and internal stakeholders. • Ensure all verifications meet compliance standards (e.g., FCRA, GDPR). • Document all findings accurately in internal systems and reports. • Maintain the confidentiality and security of sensitive candidate data. • Communicate clearly with candidates, hiring managers, and external partners. • Stay up to date on changes in background screening laws and practices.
Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred). • Minimum of [1–3] years of experience in background screening, HR, compliance, or recruiting. • Familiarity with background check tools and platforms (e.g., Checkr, Sterling, HireRight). • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication. • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
